"So...you're saying, if I make a puppet, you can make it real?" Joker asked, his ever-present wicked grin growing wider. The slightly fat, and very short man in front of him nodded vigoursly. Sweating just as vigorously.
Baby 5 just watched, the only survivor of Doflamingo's main crew from Dressrosa.
"Y-yes, I can, Doflamingo, sir. The Life-Life fruit allows me to touch inanimate objects -- or just things that aren't really alive -- and bring that inanimate object to life. It's actually quite-"
"I get it. But now, the question is...should make another me?" His fingers twitch, and another Doflamingo forms from a whirlwind of string. "Or someone else?" the smirking clone of Doflamingo was once again consumed by a whirlwind of string, and a female shape is formed from it. It slowly slumps backward, until it was lying down. Hair flowed from the newly made scalp, pulsing down the form until it reached the waist. The (h/c) hair glistened in the waning light. Skin erupted from the string, and brilliant (e/c) eyes formed in little pools left in the whirlwind. The skin was a pure shade of (s/k), and the skin at the head had expanded down the neck and across the body. Baby 5 quickly put a blanket on the form, hiding its nakedness beneath. Finally, Doflamingo was done. He had made a puppet, but he wasn't controlling it. It wasn't breathing. And it was a very beautiful girl.
"Go on, then." Doflamingo said, smirking at the fat Life-Life fruit user. The chubby man waddled over to the still form, and bent on his knees. He reached out, and his thumb pressed into its chin, while his pointer finger pressed into its forehead. He took a deep breath...and let it out.
The air he exhaled from his lungs looked like a fine, shimmery mist of gold. It didn't float upwards and disperse into the air, either. It floated down, settling on the porcelain face. Then he started to press harder, and the mist flowed into the nostrils of the form, and through the slightly parted lips.
He removed his hands, and stood. Doflamingo stared at the form, and flicked his eyes up to the Life-Life fruit user. "I thought you said it would come to life." He said, his voice deep and menacing, sending shivers down the plump man's spine.
"J-just give it time, Jo- Dofla- Sir!" The man stuttered. "It will happen, I assure you!"
"I think you swindled me, made me waste my time." Doflamingo stood, towering over the poor, frightened man. He grabbed the man's throat, holding him high above the ground, and strode towards the edge of the cliff. "I'm going to throw you off the cli-"
A gasping breath of air cut him off. Then a flurry of coughing, and Baby 5 gasping in awe. He turned, still holding the now purple man by his throat.
His puppet...he had cut off the connection. It should have dissolved. But it was still there, its (h/c) hair covering the perfectly sculpted body. Of course Doflamingo would make the puppet so beautiful. He's a man.
She held the blanket to her chest, her (e/c) eyes wide and frightened. Baby 5 advanced, speaking softly.
"It's okay, we're not going to hurt you..." she said, and the girl stared at her. She slowly stood, the blanket hugging her curves in the gentle wind that blew across the cliff top. Doflamingo dropped the grape colored man, and he fell to the ground, his legs crumpling, clutching his red throat and gasping for air.
Doflamingo took a few steps forward, his eyes behind the glasses wide. He thought the fat man was lying, but...here she is. Alive. Baby 5 had given her a coat that she stole from one of the many minions that follow Dolfamingo. It was wrapped tightly around the girl, ending just above her knees. "It worked..." Doflamingo mused aloud, staring in slight wonder, his wide smile gone. "I can't believe-" He took a step closer as he was saying this, and the girl jumped back, crouching slightly in a fighting position. Anyone could see that every muscle in her body was as tense as a taut bowstring. Doflamingo held up his hands defensively. "I'm not going to hurt you...I created you. Why would I hurt you?" He said calmly, his voice soothing.
"Doflamingo...she just came alive. I don't know if she knows-"
"I know what you're saying." The girl said, cutting Baby 5 off and making everyone go silent again. "I..." she said, in a quieter voice, before pressing her lips in a tight line and refusing to speak more.
"Well...you're going to need a name."
She stayed silent.
"Widget? Portal? Maverick? _______?" Doflamingo suggested, walking back and forth. Her wary (e/c) eyes never left him. But she did perk up at the sound of one of the names.
"..._______. I like _______." She said slowly, testing the name on her tongue.
"Alright. Hello, _______." Doflamingo said, holding his hands out to the sides, a pleasant smile on his face.
It was a trustworthy smile to this girl, new to the world. Little did she know, he only planned on using her. Testing her, seeing what she can do.
"Seeing as how you do not have a place to go...would you like to stay here?" He said, cocking his head a bit. Baby 5 smiled a bit, at her boss's antics.
"I...suppose..." the girl said hesitantly, standing a bit straighter and pulling the jacket tighter around her bare form. Doflamingo's smile grew wider, and maybe a bit more feral.
"Baby 5 will show you to your room." He said, gesturing to the black haired woman standing next to her. Baby 5 nodded, and turned crisply on her heel, walking to a small building at the end of the long, gently sloping down road. The girl with (h/c) hair followed, hesitantly at first. But as their figures disappeared into the house, Doflamingo's mouth spread into a wolfish grin. He ran a hand through his short blond hair, and started laughing.
"What...a pleasant surprise...I wonder how useful she will be?" He asked the emptiness, laughing. He turned back to the cliff, and his fingers twitched. The fat man, who had been cowering in a corner, jerked upwards into a standing position in response. "I think you have outlived your usefullness..." He said, and his fingers shifted again. The man started walking, unwillingly, towards the edge of the cliff, to the tune of Doflamingo's laughter.
"P-please! No! I did everything you asked! You promised me! You promised!" The man shouted, struggling futilely.
Joker laughed, his fingers still moving. "I didn't lie. I promised you many riches. There are many riches at the bottom of the ocean down there." His smile grew wider. "Shame you won't be able to live to use it."
"P-p-please! Please no! I-I did everything you said! Plea-AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!" The plump man cut himself off as he stepped off the cliff. He tumbled through the air, smashing against the side of the cliff, and plummeting into the icy cold waters. He sunk like a stone to the bottom of the sea, resting on a bed of gold coins. And Joker, or better known as Doflamingo, strutted back to the seperate room on their small house, and sat down on his bed, content.
This is how it all began. How life as you know it began. Doflamingo weaved you from his strings, and another breathed life into your body. You were made of Doflamingo's string. In essence, he was kind of like your father. You are _______, born of string and gold. And this is how your life began.
